We conclude that meditation upon the water supplied to green peas and wheat can affect their germination rates and growth.[1]

Mentally controlled qi energy can induced crop seeds to sprout and root for several cm within about 20 min. [2]

Histones are proteins around which DNA winds inside the nucleus of a cell, and the particular ways in which histones, wind, unwind, and are modified can dictate which parts of the genome are expressed and when.[1]

Researchers at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem found a link between a gene called AVPR1a and ruthless behaviour in an economic exercise called the 'Dictator Game'. [3]

Two subjects were tested for their ability to direct their intention to either wind or unwinding DNA presented to them in a quartz cuvette. ..The results confirm previous experiments indicating that focused human intentionality can produce significant changes in DNA conformation. The results extend previous studies by demonstrating the dynamic changes in DNA conformation over time are complex and dependent on the type of bioenergy generated. Different subjects produced different types of conformational change as indicated by shifts in the absorption spectra at either 260nm or 310nm. In some cases, bioenergy produced a decrease absorption at 260nm (reflecting DNA winding) and an increase absorption at 310nm. [2]

Qi Energy Can Be Stored In Items and Has Polarities

Storing of qi gong energy in various materials and drugs (qi gongnization): its clinical application for treatment of pain, circulatory disturbance, bacterial or viral infections, heavy metal deposits, and related intractable medical problems by selectively enhancing circulation and drug uptake.

Abstract
In the process of evaluating the effects of external Qi Gong on inanimate substances by the Bi-Digital O-Ring Test, Qi Gong energy was shown to have a polarity which the author designated for convenience sake (+) or (-), where (+) increases the strength of muscles and (-) weakens them. Depending upon how external Qi Gong is applied and from which part of the body it emanates, the polarity changes. In general, it was found that, when (+) polarity is applied to the painful area or spastic muscles or arteries in vaso-constriction it often reduced or eliminated the pain, spastic muscles or circulatory disturbances. The author succeeded in storing part of the Qi Gong energy in inanimate materials, such as papers, metals (such as a sheet of aluminum foil), glass, stone, band-aids, clothes, drugs, etc. in bi-polar (one end of the same material becomes (+) polarity and the other end of the same material becomes (-) polarity) form in one material or uni-polar, i.e., the entire material either has pure (+) polarity or (-) polarity. Water, EPA, vitamins, antibiotics and other drugs were also converted to (+) polarity. When the material has a bi-polar state, it becomes possible to eliminate one of the polarities by applying certain changing electrical fields. The effect of placing (+) polarity Qi Gong energy stored material was compared with direct application of the Qi Gong on pain, spastic muscle and spastic vertebral arteries. The therapeutic effects of these 2 methods were quite similar for the identical time duration but a more predictable effect was often obtained in the former. As our previous study indicates that acupuncture, electrical stimulation (1-3 pulses/sec.), as well as Qi Gong not only improved the microcirculatory disturbance and relaxed spastic muscles and vaso-constrictive arteries but also reduced or eliminated the pain and also selectively enhanced drug uptake to the area where drugs could not be delivered due to existing circulatory disturbances, by placing (+) Qi Gong stored material, such as a sheet of paper or aluminum foil, band-aid or clothes. Bi- Digital O-Ring Test evaluation indicated that not only did it produce all the beneficial effects of Qi Gong but also enhanced the drug uptake selectively in the area where it is necessary for the drug to be delivered for effective treatment, and reduced lead deposits in tissue.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 400 WORDS)

Electromagnetism and Qi Emission From Human Hands

Detection of extraordinary large bio-magnetic field strength from human hand during external Qi emission.

Abstract
It is generally accepted that more than 10(-6) gauss order magnetism was not detected in normal human condition. However, we detected 10(-3) gauss (mGauss) order bio-magnetic field strength from the palm in special persons who emitted External Qi ("Chi" or "Ki"). This detection was possible by special arranged magnetic field detection system, consisted of a pair of 2 identical coils with 80,000 turns and a high sensitivity amplifier. Each of the coils were rolled 80,000 turns accurately, and were connected in series in opposite direction, actuating as a gradiometer. We measure bio-magnetic field strength in 37 subjects with this detection system. The only 3 subjects of them exhibited strong bio-magnetic field of 2 to 4 mGauss in frequency range of 4 to 10 Hz. This magnetic field strength was greater than that of normal human bio-magnetism by 1,000 times at least. A simultaneous measurement of bio-magnetic field strength and its corresponding bio-electric current was examined in one subject. During exhibiting such strong bio-magnetism, its corresponding electric current was not detectable. Therefore, the extra-ordinary large bio-magnetic field strength can not derive from internal body current alone, hence the origin of the large bio-magnetism is still unknown. We suppose that the extraordinary large bio-magnetic field strength might be originated from "Qi" energy in the oriental medicine or in the oriental traditional philosophy.

MANIPULATION OF THE ELECTROMAGNETIC SPECTRUM VIA FIELDS PROJECTED FROM HUMAN HANDS: A Qi Energy Connection?

http://journals.sfu.ca/seemj/index.php/seemj/article/view/349

Abstract

The concept of Qi energy has been an integral component of Eastern philosophy and medicine for thousands of years. While there is no precise Western definition of Qi energy, it is often referred to as bioelectricity. It has been well established in the West that the electrical activity in the human body produces magnetic fields, which are sometimes referred to as Bioelectromagnetic (BioEM) energy. Technological advances over the past several decades have made it possible to measure these subtle yet important electromagnetic energy fields within and around the human body. Increasing evidence suggests that the Eastern concept of Qi and the Western concept of BioEM energy may be one and the same. An exploratory experiment was designed and carried out with the intention of providing further evidence of this connection. Three adult males with reported extraordinary Qi energy manipulation abilities projected Qi energy towards copper coils that were designed to measure subtle alterations in the immediate electromagnetic environment. The results indicate that power increased or decreased significantly in the test phase at several frequencies when compared to the control phases. The analysis also indicated that the change in power for these specific frequencies was directional. That is, these changes in power were mostly detected in one versus all three coils simultaneously. These results suggest that it is possible for human beings to alter the electromagnetic environment around their hands at will. Specifically, the power seen at certain frequencies of the electromagnetic spectrum can be lowered or raised when a Qi Master "emits" Qi energy versus simply holding his hand over a detection device during a control phase.

An Analytic Review of Studies on Measuring Effects of External Qi in China

Abstract
Scientists have long been interested in measuring external qi (EQ or wai qi) during qigong healing, and have produced a large body of literature over the past 20 years. This paper reviews the major research on measuring EQ in China and tries to help other researchers to get a picture on what has been done so as to eliminate the simple replication of already verified results. Starting with the historical background of EQ studies in China, this paper analytically reviews the major studies of EQ effects from five different categories of detectors: 1) physical signal detectors; 2) chemical dynamics methods; 3) detectors using biological materials; 4) detectors using life sensors; and 5) detectors using the human body. The focus is on the pros and cons of each detector. These studies documented some important correlates of EQ process or qi healing, which cannot be explained by psychological effect or the known biological processes. Even though the extant literature suggests that intent plays a critical role in the effect or characteristics of EQ we know little about its role in EQ effect and its relationship with qigong healing from these experiments. These studies have confirmed the existence of measurable EQ effects from various perspectives; however, none has really revealed the primary nature of EQ or how EQ healing works. Given the fact that qigong therapy is based on the dialectic view of two interdependent spheres, while modern science and medicine is based on the reductionist view of one material world, it is recommended that future studies should use more biological or life-sensor detectors to increase our understanding of the healing potentials of qigong, instead of stay at the level of verification of signals. New methodologies, new theories, and new perspectives are urgently needed for further understanding what qigong is and how EQ healing works.

Emission of extremely strong magnetic fields from the head and whole body during oriental breathing exercises.

Abstract
This article reports the result of an experiment that was designed to measure the biomagnetic field emanating from two individuals who were practising traditional Oriental Qi Gong breathing exercises. The biomagnetic field was measured with differential coils wound 80,000 turns, a magnetic needle compass and a digital electromagnetic wave detection device. It was found that an extremely strong magnetic field was emitted from the two individuals. One subject emitted a magnetic field at the level of 200-300 mT (2-3 mGauss) and the other at 0.13 mT (1.3 mGauss). In both cases, moreover, the magnetic needle compass rotated 30 degrees (this was tested 32 times). When the rotation of the needle occurred, a reproducible magnetic field of 800-1500 mT (8-15 mGauss) was indicated on the digital measuring device (this was tested 12 times). It is concluded that traditional Oriental Qi Gong breathing appears to stimulate an unusually large biomagnetic field emission.

Night Time Pulses of Ground Energy Associated with a Celestial Source; A Comparison of Observations from Italy and Canada

https://johncaddy.files.wordpress.com/2015/09/night-time-pulses-of-ground-energy-final-versionnewest.pdf

ABSTRACT
A phenomenon emanating from surface and ground water before dawn was investigated in Italy and Canada. Rooms filled with pulsed clouds of green particles were identified as ground energy by persons sensitive to qi phenomena. Individual pulses lasted approximately 30 minutes and were repeated several times nightly. Their relative timing was part of a 24-hr cycle of sky and ground energies which was consistent between nights. We hypothesize that light sky energy impacting Earth was either converted into ground energy by contact with living resources, or heavy energy was displaced from sub-surface geoflora. One nightly pulse was identified with a cosmic source due to its occurrence 4 minutes earlier on successive nights.

http://www.qigonginstitute.org/abstract/735/the-influence-of-qigong-training-on-coherence-f-eeg-during-one-year-period
In this study, we analyzed the coherence of EEG to observe the trainees' EEG regularly. The young students, who were 17 to 20 years old, had been practicing 'Zhanzhuang Gong' for one year. We try to find out the effects of the qigong training period on coherence of EEG. 32 persons in the qigong group and 35 persons in the control group were involved in this experiment. During one year period of observation, the subjects of the qigong group practiced qiqong for 40 minutes every day. The EEGs of the qigong group were analyzed every half year in meditation, and the EEGs were also recorded before learning qigong. The students in the control group did not take part in the qigong training and the EEGs of them were investigated at rest twice with an interval of one year. In the test. eight channels of EEGs were simultaneously processed by a computer on line for 20 minutes. The program, 'computer evaluation system for the qigong state' was provided by the 'Laboratory of Bio-Control, Department of Electrical Engineering. Zhejiang University'.

After one year of qigong training, total coherence between the left and right frontal regions increased from 0. 84±0.07 to 0. 87±0.06 (p<O.05). Before qigong training. the total coherence between the left and right occipital areas was 0.68±0.14. After half year's training, it increased to 0.79±0.10, and after one year's training. it was 0.76±0.10. Self comparison showed the probability was less than 0.001. The total coherence between the left and right temporal areas before qigong training was 0.48±0.17; half year after qigong training it was 0.55±0.13, compared with that before qigong training (p<O. 05). One year after qigong training it was 0.64±0.12, compared with those before qigong training and half year
after qigong training (p<O.001). Qigong training had no significant influence on coherence between the left and right central regions and between adjacent anterior and posterior brain regions ( F3-C3, F4-C4, C3-01, C4-O2 ). It had no significant difference between the qigong group without learning and the first recording of the control group at the same time. The data from the two tests of the control group showed that the total coherence did not change significantly between the left and right corresponding brain regions and between the anterior and posterior adjacent brain regions.

The results showed that qigong training had affected coherence of EEGs between the two frontal regions, between two occipital regions and between two temporal regions of the qigong group in meditation. The most significant is that, with the increase of training period, the total coherence value between the left and right temporal areas went up. It seems that there is certain dosage-effect relationship. It is suggested that the value of the total coherence between the left and right temporal areas should be comparatively sensitive and objective parameter of meditation.

Abstract

The authors investigated the effect of external Qi-therapy (EQT) on changes in encephalograms (EEGs) and circulating cortisol concentrations. Ten college students participated in cross over sessions, receiving EQT or placebo treatment with their eyes open. Subjects reported improved emotions of satisfaction, relaxation, and calmness during EQT as compared to levels reported during placebo treatments. There were significant differences in the proportions of alpha and beta EEG waves between the two sessions, and the relative strengths of alpha waves were higher during EQT than during control sessions (p < .05). Plasma cortisol concentrations during EQT were significantly lower than during control sessions p < .05). Thus, Qi-therapy was more effective in inducing relaxation than placebo treatment.

ELECTROMAGNETIC EMISSION FROM HUMANS DURING FOCUSED INTENT

https://www.bial.com/imagem/10_Grant_151-06.pdf

Objectives:
Our Bio-fields Laboratory at the Rhine Research Center detects electromagnetic radiation from humans during times of focused intent (usually healing meditations). Everyone emits infrared electromagnetic radiation that is just beyond the visible range, and we sense this radiation as heat or warmth. We also emit invisible ultraviolet radiation. We hope to discover how ultraviolet photon emissions are generated by human subjects and how it is being used by our sensory system, or by our minds, to influence healing to interact with materials.

Methods:
Participants are placed in a dark room with an infrared detector that is more sensitive than the human sensory system and a photomultiplier detector designed to detect UV radiation that is invisible to the human eye. The photomultiplier detector exceeds the sensitivity of the human eye by detecting wavelengths from approximately 450 nanometers to 250 nanometers. (Visible spectrum = 700 to 400 nanometers). This detector is used to measure electromagnetic radiation from humans at the higherfrequency (shorter wavelength) ultraviolet end of the visible spectrum

Results: Using the infrared detectors, we have noted that most healers become much redder on the forehead and palms as the healing meditation progresses. Over a multi-year period we have measured radiation from approximately 100 different subjects in the darkroom using the photomultiplier detector which measures the number of photons per second that are emitted. With the darkroom is empty, the photomultiplier detector reads a baseline count of approximately 5 photons per second. The count rises to approximately 8 or 10 photons per second with human control subjects in the darkroom. In a recent series of tests with groups of three subjects in the darkroom doing healing meditations, the photon count typically rose to approximately 40 to 60 photons per second. When the subjects were instructed to stop meditating, the count consistently dropped back to the baseline of approximately 8 to 10 photons per second. Three individual subjects on multiple occasions have emitted 400,000 to 800,000 photons per second over a time span of several seconds.

Conclusions: Since photons are energy, and since healers and meditators are emitting measureable increases in photons, these individuals are emitting invisible energy. This energy may be associated with healing or with other events generated through meditation.

the power seen at certain frequencies of the electromagnetic spectrum can be lowered or raised when a Qi Master "emits" what he believes to be Qi energy versus simply holding his hand over a detection device during a control phase. This suggests a link between willful Qi energy production and manipulation of the electromagnetic spectrum.

It also appears that the directional influence of this change in power can be manipulated, as power changes were observed in only one of the three spatial dimensions at a time.

Interestingly, we did not observe a spike in a particular frequency, such as one would see if measuring output from machinery (such as the high energy radiation from an X-ray machine, for example). Rather, a subtle pattern change occurred across an array of frequencies.

Brain waves are not constant in frequency, but vary from moment to moment. The brain's pacemaker determines the frequency of the brain waves at any given time, which is anatomically located in the thalamus. 14 As a result of physiological constraints with the movement of calcium ions across the membrane of a neuron, these pace-making thalamocortical neurons experience a silent phase every 1.5 to 28 seconds. During these thalamocortical silent phases, which can last from 5 to seconds, the brainwaves are said to be in a run period, and are susceptible to entrainment with outside fields. It is during these free run periods that the Schumann Resonance may entrain human brainwaves. With the onset of night, the ionosphere moves higher, and frequency of the Schumann Resonance falls to the low range of the spectrum (1 to 7 Hz). These frequencies entrain through the pineal gland and overall brainwave activity during the free run period, resetting brainwave activity to between 1 and 7 Hz, which corresponds to the delta and theta stages of brainwave activity. These stages are associated with light and deep sleep and other stages of altered consciousness in humans. In this way, human behavior may be influenced by entrainment or absorption of electromagnetic fields from the environment.

The Nishino Breathing Method and Ki-energy (Life-energy): A Challenge to Traditional Scientific Thinking

http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ecam/2006/324525/abs/

Abstract

The breathing method, which was developed and is being taught by Kozo Nishino, a Japanese Ki-expert, is for raising the levels of Ki-energy (life-energy or the vitality) of an individual. It is neither a therapy nor a healing technique. However, many of his students have experienced an improvement in their health, and in some cases, they were able to overcome health problems by themselves. Since this is an interesting subject from the standpoint of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), we have been collaborating with Nishino to conduct a scientific investigation of his Ki-energy. We found that Nishino's Ki-energy can inhibit cell division of cancer cells, protect isolated mitochondria from heat deterioration and reduce lipid peroxidation in heat-treated mitochondria. Although Ki-energy may consist of several different energy forms, we found that at least one of them is near-infrared radiation between the wavelength range of 0.8 and 2.7 µm. Another interesting observation at his school is the Taiki-practice (paired Ki-practice). During this practice, Nishino can ‘move’ his students without any physical contact. Many of them run, jump or roll on the floor when they receive his Ki-energy. We studied this and propose that ‘information’ is conveyed through the air between two individuals by Ki-energy. This may be called a five sense-independent, life-to-life communication by Ki. All of our results suggest that we should re-evaluate the Cartesian dualism (separation of mind and body) which has been a fundamental principle of modern science for the past three centuries.

Not only Nishino, the founder of the method, but also instructors and his students can emit Ki from their bodies dependent on their training and ability.
Ki may consist of several different components, but at least it contains near-infrared radiation between 0.8 and 2.7 mm.
Ki, which causes biochemical reactions, can pass through a near-infrared range filter (0.8–2.7 mm), but is blocked by materials, such as black acrylic, aluminum foil and a visible range filter (360–760 nm). Ki, which causes Taiki-reactions, can pass through the same near-infrared range filter (0.8–2.7 mm), but is also blocked by black acrylic, aluminum foil and the same visible range filter (360–760 nm).
During the Taiki-practice, Ki seems to carry information which makes five sense-independent communication possible

Neuronal ion channels and their sensitivity to extremely low frequency weak electric field effects.

Neuronal ion channels and their sensitivity to extremely low frequency weak electric field effects.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/14690272

Abstract

Neuronal ion channels are gated pores whose opening and closing is usually regulated by factors such as voltage or ligands. They are often selectively permeable to ions such as sodium, potassium or calcium. Rapid signalling in neurons requires fast voltage sensitive mechanisms for closing and opening the pore. Anything that interferes with the membrane voltage can alter channel gating and comparatively small changes in the gating properties of a channel can have profound effects. Extremely low frequency electrical or magnetic fields are thought to produce, at most, microvolt changes in neuronal membrane potential. At first sight, such changes in membrane potential seem orders of magnitude too small to significantly influence neuronal signalling. However, in the central nervous system, a number of mechanisms exist which amplify signals. This may allow such small changes in membrane potential to induce significant physiological effects.

The origins of the brain's endogenous electromagnetic field and its relationship to provision of consciousness.

The origins of the brain's endogenous electromagnetic field and its relationship to provision of consciousness.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25012714

As a potential source of consciousness, the brain's endogenous electromagnetic (EM) field has much to commend it. Difficulties connecting EM phenomena and consciousness have been exacerbated by the lack of a specific conclusive biophysically realistic mechanism originating the EM field, its form and dynamics. This work explores a potential mechanism: the spatial and temporal coherent action of transmembrane ion channel currents which simultaneously produce electric and magnetic fields that dominate all other field sources. Ion channels, as tiny current filaments, express, at a distance, the electric and magnetic fields akin to those of a short (transmembrane) copper wire. Following assembly of appropriate formalisms from EM field theory, the paper computationally explores the scalar electric potential produced by the current filaments responsible for an action potential (AP) in a realistic hippocampus CA1 pyramidal neuron. It reveals that AP signaling can impress a highly structured, focused and directed "sweeping-lighthouse beam" that "illuminates" neighbors at mm scales. Ion channel currents thereby provide a possible explanation for both EEG/MEG origins and recently confirmed functional EM coupling effects. Finally, a physically plausible EM field decomposition is posited. It reveals objective and subjective perspectives intrinsic to the membrane-centric field dynamics. Perceptual "fields" can be seen to operate as the collective action of virtual EM-boson composites (called qualeons) visible only by "being" the fields, yet objectively appear as the familiar EM field activity. This explains the problematic evidence presentation and offers a physically plausible route to a solution to the "hard problem".

Together these experiments provided strong support for endogenous feedback electric fields playing an active role in shaping (synchronized) cortical network dynamics. Detailed biophysical modeling of such cortical networks exposed to activity-dependent electric fields further validated these findings. Therefore, the endogenous electric fields generated by structured cortical network activity may be more than an epiphenomenon, but rather may play an active role as a neuronal communication mechanism.

Frequency-specific responses in the human brain caused by electromagnetic fields

Frequency-specific responses in the human brain caused by electromagnetic fields

http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/0022510X94901996

Abstract

The effects of 1.5- and 10-Hz electromagnetic fields (EMFs), 0.2–0.4 gauss, on the intrinsic electrical activity of the human brain at these frequencies was studied. Each of 19 subjects exposed for 2-sec epochs exhibited altered brain electrical activity at the frequency of the EMF during the time of stimulation, as determined by spectral analysis of the electroencephalogram. Since brain activity at specific frequencies could be altered by applied EMFs, the results suggest that it may be possible to use EMFs to determine whether particular intrinsic frequencies subserve specific physiological or behavioral responses.

Pure Consciousness as Suggested by Beta Range EEG Coherence

EEG Coherence Bursts in the Beta Range of 30-32hz have been reported during pure consciousness experiences during TM practice,  as well as during Yogic Flying experiences aka TM-Sidhi practice.

This suggests that in both TM practice and Yogic Flying, that if pure consciousness is defined as these EEG bursts, that both TM practice and Yogic Flying involve pure consciousness.

  1. If pure consciousness is experimentally suggested as Beta Range EEG Coherence changes..
  2. If the normal EEG rhythm of adults is within the Beta Range...
  3. If EEG Coherence Changes can be triggered through synchronous firing...
  4. If synchronous firing can be triggered through perception of stimuli or purposeful action...
  5. Then pure consciousness should be experimentally suggested in adults with normal EEG rhythm, who are perceiving stimuli or completing a purposeful action.
Argument is flawed, pure consciousness is experimentally suggested as being high powered broadband coherence, that spans across theta, alpha, and beta ranges.

The problem is the argument says nothing of the power of the EEG coherence, and only mentions the beta state.
